The works under contract was for Casino Memorial Swimming Pool Upgrade Stage 1.
The scope of work included, but is not limited to the following;
Various demolition and excavation tasks were managed and undertaken by competent contractors. The 50m, toddler pool, concourse and pavements were excavated and the concrete crushed. This process was a high risk activity that was appropriately planned and coordinated by the Momentum Built team. The concrete was crushed and used for backfill of the 50m pool walls. Demolition works included the dismantling of the existing water slide that was secured and stored and then reinstated and recommissioned at the end of the project. Plant and equipment including the steel filter cells, PVC backwash tanks, bonded sodium hypochlorite storage area and tanks were decommissioned and removed from site. The existing roof over the 50m pool was removed and replaced with a new roof structure. All items that could be recycled were sorted to reduce the impact of waste and all other waste to handled, stored and disposed of in accordance with the relevant guidelines.
Excavation works included the new LTS / splash pool and associated tank, the backwash detention tank and the works to the 50m pool to enable the widening of the pool to accommodate eighth lanes, ramp and balance tank.
New concrete works to the LTS and 50m pool were coordinated to take into account the required curing and shrinkage period and concrete ramps, stairs and planter boxes were formed and poured on site.
Tiling works that were undertaken with the consideration of the climatic conditions as per specification. Installation of handrails and balustrades.
This project was completed in September 2023.
