Refurbishment and Extension of Children’s Centre for Warringah Council

The work under contract was for the expansion & renewal of the existing Brookvale Children’s Centre in 38 Federal Parade, Brookvale.
The Scope of work included partial demolition of the existing centre, construction of new additions and refurbishment of selected areas including all site works and associated services.
The demolition worked included the removal of the existing awnings, existing walls, screens, fences, doors and the like, existing sheds, noting some to be relocated, miscellaneous outdoor sandpit and planters. Removal and store wall unit air conditioners and bar heaters in refurbished areas for relocation.
The excavation scope of works involved the excavation of the footings to support the new walls, stairs and ramps.
The main construction phase of the works included the construction of the new expansion of the existing building. This included structural walls, new metal roof, access ramps, stairs and landscaping. There are numerous areas of the project that will require extensive modification in accordance with the design scope, these included infill brickwork, mechanical and hydraulic services.
